What we keep, why we keep it, and when we delete it.
This notice is written to match the expectations of the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea. It is short on purpose.
What we collect
The library keeps one analytics cookie that counts which entries get read, so the editors know what to maintain next. The cookie stores a single anonymous counter; it does not carry a name, an email, or a persistent identifier across sessions.
If you write to the editors through the contact form, we keep your name, your email, and your message for as long as is needed to reply and to record any correction in an entry changelog. We do not add you to a marketing list, because there is no marketing list.
Why we keep it
The analytics counter is processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the shelf maintained. The contact form content is processed under our legitimate interest in replying to a reader and crediting a correction. We do not rely on consent for either, and we do not sell or transfer personal information to third parties.
How long we keep it
The analytics counter is kept for up to thirteen months and then rolled off. Contact form messages are kept for the lifetime of the entry they relate to, plus a short grace period, so that a correction can be traced if it is later queried. A reader may ask for their message to be deleted sooner.
Your rights
A reader in the Republic of Korea may ask to see the personal information we hold about them, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to [email protected] from the address you used, tell us what you want, and we will reply within ten working days. There is no charge for any of these requests.
Children
The library is written for developers, validators, and analysts. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under fourteen. If a younger reader has written to us, a parent or guardian may ask for the message to be deleted.
International reading
The shelf is hosted on standard static web infrastructure and may be read from outside the Republic of Korea. Reading the library does not transfer personal information beyond the analytics counter described above.
